Quality time.

All of these words define the concept of hygge, our Advent theme.

Hygge (pronounced hoo-ga) is a Danish word that actually has no literal translation in English. It is a sense of comfort, togetherness and well-being. It is about being with the people we love, a feeling of home, slowing down to celebrate the little moments in every day and creating feelings of warmth and happiness. It is sitting by a warm fire, reading a good book under a warm blanket, being grateful for all the good things, connecting with nature and connecting with family and friends. Advent is the perfect season to practice hygge as we await the coming of Jesus to welcome us into his eternal hygge. So this Advent season we invite you to live a hygge life - to find peace and rest through the storms and chaos, to be content with what you have and to find meaning in every day.

It is our hope that through worship, special events and being in fellowship with one another that you will experience the peaceful and grace-filled feelings of hygge that can change your life!

Blue Christmas Service (Friday, December 20, 7:30 PM, Sanctuary)
For some, Christmas can be a difficult time of year. It can be a time of loneliness or loss. This service will help shed light, joy and peace for those whose life experiences make Christmas a less-than-exuberant time of year. Hygge is about not only feeling content during the great times, but also during the thunderstorms in life.

Christmas Eve Services (Tuesday, December 24, 4 & 8 PM)
Celebrate the birth of Christ! You will feel a deep sense of connection, togetherness and belonging, which is what hygge is all about. Both services are candlelight. Learn more
