Lent is a season of 40 days (not counting Sundays) in preparation for Easter. It’s a time when Christians reflect, grow in our faith and deepen our spiritual connections. There are many ways to engage spiritually this Lenten season, which begins on Ash Wednesday. No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, or your familiarity with UCP, you are invited!

Take time to focus on God through devotion. Devotions are posted daily on our website.

Online Bible Study

Join us for weekly Bible Study on Wednesdays at 10 AM, reading Entering
the Passion of Jesus, by Amy Jill Levine. Contact Pastor Beth to have a copy mailed to you, pick up a copy on Wednesdays from Room 107, or check that you would like a copy when you sign up for a Lent-in-a-Bag.

Lent Offering

During Lent, we are collecting a special offering, One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS). OGHS donations support the ministries of our denominations that respond to disaster, provide refugee assistance, and lead community development efforts. You can give to OGHS online (select "One Great Hour of Sharing" in the Give to menu), or mail a check (payable to UCP with "OGHS" in the memo line) to United Christian Parish (11508 North Shore Drive, Reston, VA 20190).

Worship Series: Again & Again

In Lent, we’re reminded that, again and again, suffering and brokenness find us. We doubt again, we lament again, we mess up again. Again and again, the story of Jesus on the cross repeats—every time lives are taken unjustly, every time the powerful choose corruption and violence, every time individuals forget how to love. Yet, in the midst of the chaos of our lives, God again and again, breaks the cycle and offers us a new way forward. Join us for worship during Lent Sundays at 10 AM on Facebook, Youtube or on our website.
