Ash Wednesday is a day when we, as Christians, receive the mark of the cross on our foreheads to remind us of our humble beginning. It begins the 40 days of reflection and repentance in preparation for Easter.
This year, we are offering ashes mixed with purple glitter! Glitter ashes:
are a sign of hope
serve as a witness to a LGBTQ-affirming church
share an inclusive Christian message
On Ash Wednesday:
9 AM-7:30 PM: Stop by our Sanctuary (using door 1) to receive glitter ashes. For those who would like to spend additional time in quiet prayer and meditation, self-guided prayer stations will be set up around the Sanctuary.
7:30 PM: Ash Wednesday Service-a contemplative service with music, scripture, silence, prayer and the imposition of ashes.
