Lights Camera Action

Virtually, together, we can be sure that God’s actions take place in our community and in the world.

This fall, you are invited to join the journey of Lights, Camera, Action. A journey learning how to be the light of the world through the lens of faith and taking action.

Grow in your faith and in your relationships:

Virtual Fellowship, Sundays, 10:45 AM, ongoing
Bring your favorite morning beverage and come as you are to virtual fellowship! This is a time to share together with no specific agenda, just fellowship. The Zoom link will be provided in the weekly email and in the chat box on Facebook on Sunday morning.

Adult Sunday School, 11:15 AM, begins September 20
No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you are welcome to attend one of two adult Sunday School classes:
1. Faith and Racial Justice: Changing Systems and Structures
2. Bible 101: Following the Narrative Lectionary through God's Word
How to participate: A new Zoom link will be emailed in the Thursday Weekly Connection e-newsletter. If you don't already receive the Weekly Connection, sign up here. You may always send us an email for the Zoom link as well! The link will also be posted in the chat box on Facebook on Sunday morning during worship. Virtual Fellowship and Adult Sunday School use the same Zoom link.

Children's Ministry

Children experience the mystery of God in story and activity. In the summer children of all ages are invited to Godly Play.
Bible Explorers, Sundays, 10:45-11:15 AM, begins September 20
Students explore the sweeping story of God and God's people as revealed in the Bible. They learn the story of God's love in Scripture through the same stories that they hear in worship.

Youth Group, Sundays, 7 PM, begins September 13
Through games, discussion on global issues and exploring the Christian implications of the world in which we are growing up, middle and high school students celebrate the richness of Christ in our lives.

Note for parents: Please complete this year's registration form for children & youth.
How to participate:
Email Pastor Beth for the links to the children's and youth classes.

Me and White Supremacy, beginning September 14, 7-9 PM
Rev. Elethia and Millie Lyons are offering an independent study offering women the opportunity to discuss white privilege and white exceptionalism and how they impact each of us. It is a space for women to have the needed discussions if we are going to be honest about racial issues in ourselves, our church, our country and our world. The study uses Me and White Supremacy, by Layla F. Saad. Contact Elethia to receive the Zoom link.

Bible Study, 10 AM, begins September 16
As we continue to live in a world filled with uncertainty and loss, we will delve into two Old Testament books to see what we can learn from Job, a man who lost everything but his faith, and Ruth, who moved to a new land, an immigrant who trusted her new God in a time of uncertainty. Zoom link.

Bible Study, 7 PM, begins September 17
For those who are unable to attend the Wednesday morning Bible Study, you are invited on Thursdays using this Zoom link

Women In The Spirit Book Club, fourth Thursday of the month, 7 PM
Love to read? You're not alone. Build friendships with other women who love to read by taking part in the monthly book group. Learn more.

Intercessory Prayer, 11:30 AM, ongoing

In The Other Room (ITOR), monthly, days vary, 7 PM

Blessing of the Devices

Sunday, September 13, in worship
With virtual learning this year, we are blessing the electronic devices that students will be using during the Children's Time of worship. We've created a special image students can use as their computer wallpaper or screen saver. Download the wallpaper.

Virtual Blessing of the Animals

Sunday, October 4, 1-4 PM
While people around the world have gotten used to attending meetings and gatherings through Zoom, pets now have their time! Let your pet have the spotlight and be blessed virtually on St. Francis of Assisi Day. All pets welcome-dogs, cats, birds, lizards, rabbits, snakes! This is a wonderful opportunity to have your pets blessed without having to take them to a pet festival where your pet may not feel comfortable, or not like the weather elements. The Zoom link will be made available in the coming weeks.
