Alabama Rural Ministry
Be part of a team working to build strategic community relations, building sustainable homes and sharing the love of Christ in rural Alabama. The Mission Team departs on June 16 and returns on June 27. Contact Larry Pullen if interested.
Hypothermia Prevention Shelter
In the winter, we cook and provide homemade dinners for the hypothermia shelter. We also play Bingo with the residents and Bingo winners receive a prize. Prizes are items that help the residents (ie winter apparel). You can support this mission by donating prizes. For a complete list of prizes, click here. Donations collected through March 2020.
Embry Rucker Community Shelter
There are various volunteer activities throughout the year to be involved with the shelter located in Reston.
We are committed to maintaining a strong relationship with the students and faculty at Lake Anne Elementary School, which is located right next to us.
Homework Club is an after-school tutoring and mentoring program in which volunteers assist students with their homework. Homework Club meets weekly on Wednesdays at 3:45 PM. Contact us using the form below if you are interested in being a mentor.
Other Opportunities at Lake Anne ES
If you want to work with Lake Anne students but aren't able to be a part of Homework Club, there are many other ways for you to serve: assist in the school library, read with a child and other mentoring opportunities. Contact us to get involved.
We host and are involved in opportunities for local residents to have equal opportunity and resources to financial sustainability.
