Easter at united christian parish

Easter is the central Christian holiday – a day when we tell the story of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and celebrate the Good News that even death cannot stop the power of God’s love.  On Sunday, April 20, you are invited to celebrate Easter at United Christian Parish at 10 AM, either onsite or by livestream.

VISITING united Christian parish this easter?

If this is your first time worshiping with United Christian Parish, we’d love to connect with you prior to Easter. Use the plan your visit button, and we can answer any questions you may have. We can’t wait to meet you-online or onsite!

  • Our 10 AM onsite worship service will take place in our sanctuary (11508 North Shore Drive, Reston 20190).

  • This service is also livestreamed to our website, YouTube, and Facebook.

  • A nursery is available for children up to 2 years old during our 10 AM service. Children are also welcome to stay with their families. A table with children’s activities is at the back of the sanctuary.

  • At the service, children are invited to participate in Godly Play – heading back to our Children’s Ministry area about halfway through worship. This is an opportunity to engage with the story of Easter in a way that’s specifically designed for them. They will return to our sanctuary after the service. Children are also welcome to remain in with their families.

  • The service will include communion – this is a meal at which Jesus is the host, and all people are welcome. You do not need to be a member of United Christian Parish or of any other church to participate – all are welcome.

  • Wear whatever works for you – worship at United Christian Parish is usually casual. Some people get dressed up for Easter, but there will also be people wearing more casual clothes.

We look forward to celebrating Easter with you!

Holy Week

Holy Week is the week when we tell the most important part of the Christian story - the story of the death and resurrection of Jesus. Our schedule for Holy Week:

Prayer Stations (April 14-18, 9:30 AM-7 PM): Spend time in quiet reflection at self-guided prayer stations. Each station provides multisensory ways to engage, confess, and lament. Prayer stations are in room 117 (use door 1 to enter the building).

Maundy Thursday (April 17), 7 PM: A communion service with reflections on Jesus sharing a final meal with his closest friends and those who will soon betray him. The service includes dinner. The service is also livestreamed.

Good Friday (April 18), 12 PM: We remember Jesus's ultimate sacrifice on the cross. The service will be with Washington Plaza Baptist Church at United Christian Parish. It will also be livestreamed.

Easter Festival (April 19), 10 AM: Children of all ages and their families are welcome to our Easter Festival! The Festival includes an outdoor egg hunt, activities and crafts for all ages, and Easter treats for the whole family to enjoy. Learn more.
