Act for justice

Jesus cared a great deal about social justice, and so do we.
Jesus consistently demonstrated a heart for the marginalized and oppressed. He actively challenged social injustices and advocated for the vulnerable, such as healing the sick, caring for the poor, and restoring dignity to those excluded by society. Engaging in social justice work allows you to practically live out these values, following in his footsteps and becoming an instrument of God's love and transformative power.

Join the justice & peace ministry
UCP's Justice & Peace Ministry (JPM) works as the anchor for our social justice involvements. JPM puts the beliefs of our congregation into action through advocacy, community engagement, online communication, dialogue and education. JPM works for many causes including racial justice, environmental justice, ending gun violence, advancing rights for the LGBTQIA+ community, immigrant rights and restorative justice.
The work of this ministry depends on people who are passionate about social justice and making the world a more humane place. All social justice warriors are welcome to take action with us. If you are ready to get involved let us know!

racial justice
We are a church that proudly declares Black Lives Matter. We act to end racial discrimination and injustice, starting within ourselves and moving out into the world around us. Join us in our work to dismantle racism.

Environmental justice
We advocate for God's planet so that all of God's children can equally share in the goodness of Creation. You are invited to advocate for the Earth with us.

LGBTQIA+ Advocacy
We know that religious spaces haven’t always been welcoming places for all people, especially when it comes to gender and sexuality. Join us in working for full inclusion of LGBTQAI+ persons in the life and ministry of the church.
